PeakOptical is happy to announce our latest sponsorship of professional racing driver Anders Fjordbach.
PeakOptical will be supporting the 28-year-old Dane’s campaign in the Asian Le Mans Series 2018/2019 season, where he aims to pre-qualify for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, taking place in June 2019.
Taking fiber optics further
Nikolaj Johansen, CEO of PeakOptical A/S, recently met with Anders Fjordbach and his team during the final round of the European Le Mans Series in Portimão, Portugal, where he finished a season-best 9th.
“First of all Anders is a positive and very determined guy with a great charisma. These are important values in all our exposures. In his first 2 seasons driving in the ELMS he has proven himself as an extremely competitive and consistent sports car driver, matching and often exceeding the performance of higher profiled drivers. His good reputation is obviously backed up in the paddocks, ultimately securing his seat in Asia.
For PeakOptical it was therefore a relatively easy decision, linking our mutual northern Danish roots to our Far East market activities.
We believe that Anders Fjordbach can help us carry our technology brand further abroad.”, says Nikolaj Johansen.
Title challenge
Anders Fjordbach will be challenging for the new AM Trophy title with American co-drivers Chris McMurry and Mark Patterson in a Ligier JS P2. They will be driving one of two LMP2 entries for the championship-winning Algarve Pro Racing Team.
“I’m very happy to welcome PeakOptical as a partner for the Asian Le Mans series. PeakOptical shares 4 key similarities with endurance racing: speed, safety, efficiency and reliability.
I’m proud to enter into a close relationship with PeakOptical, who will give me the best opportunities for reaching my goals. This time we are aiming for the title of Asian Le Mans Series”, says Anders Fjordbach in a statement.
The first round of the Asian Le Mans Series is the 4 Hours of Shanghai taking place from 23rd-25th November 2018.
